Poker Run
The Motorcycle Ride for Dad will take the form of a Poker Run.
- You will be allowed to select a single card at five stops along the way from an official "dealer" of the Motorcycle Ride for Dad to complete your poker hand.
- After you select the card, the "dealer" will write the name of the card you selected on your "Poker Draw Card" and sign it.
- At the end of the Ride the "Poker Draw Cards" must be handed over to Ride organizers. "Poker Draw Cards" that appear to have been tampered with will not be eligible.
- The last card selections will be made at the end of the rural run and must be checked by an official "dealer" of the Motorcycle Ride for Dad, at that time. The option will then be given to buy up to 2 more cards at $5.00 each.
Standard Poker Hand Ranking
For anyone who is not familiar with poker
There are 52 cards in the standard pack of playing cards. The ranking of the individual cards, from highest to lowest are as follows: ace, king, queen, jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. There is no ranking between the suits. Therefore the king of spades and the king of diamonds are equal.
A poker hand consists of five cards. The categories of hand, from highest to lowest, are listed below. Any hand in a higher category beats any hand in a lower category (so for example any three of a kind beats any two pairs). Between hands in the same category the rank of the individual cards decides which is better, as described in more detail below.
In games where a player has more than five cards and selects five to form a poker hand, the remaining cards do not play any part in the ranking. Poker ranks are always based on five cards only.

Ranking of suits
In standard poker there is no ranking of suits. If two hands are identical apart from the suits of the cards then they count as equal. In standard poker, if there are two highest equal hands in a showdown, the pot is split between them. In the case for this poker run, if there are two or more identical hands, then there will be a card draw and the highest card wins.
