General Information
Prostate cancer is the most common men’s cancer in Canada. Each year, 18 000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed and 4 300 Canadian men die of the disease.
Many men are hesitant to discuss possible prostate problems openly, even with their doctor, yet prostate cancer is the number one cancer in Canada in terms of incidence.
Dr. Gad Perry from the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre says: "Prostate cancer is curable if found early. Men need to talk to their doctors about it and have their PSA checked. I'm convinced we can dramatically reduce the suffering and death caused by this cancer."
Men over 40 need to talk to their doctors about getting checked!
